About AJet

AJet is a Turkish low-cost airline wholly owned by Turkish Airlines. Its main base is Istanbul Sabiha Gökçen International Airport, and it flies domestic routes across Türkiye as well as international services to Northern Cyprus, Europe and Western Asia. It has a codeshare agreement with its parent. Until 31 March 2024 it was known as AnadoluJet.

From brand to airline

Turkish Airlines created AnadoluJet as a trademark on 23 April 2008, rather than as a separate company. In March 2020 the brand was extended to all of Turkish Airlines' international routes from Sabiha Gökçen, more than 20 at the time. In February 2023 Turkish Airlines confirmed plans to spin the brand off as an independent airline. The new company, AJet Hava Taşımacılığı A.Ş. (AJet Air Transportation Joint Stock Company), was incorporated on 14 July 2023 as a 100% subsidiary; the new livery and branding were shown in November 2023; its own air operator's certificate was issued on 2 January 2024; and the AJet name came into use on 1 April 2024.

Fleet

AJet flies an all-narrowbody fleet. Wikipedia's fleet table, dated December 2025, lists Airbus A320ceos, A320neos, A321ceos and A321neos alongside Boeing 737-800s and 737 MAX 8s, many of the Boeings transferred from Turkish Airlines. Figures from Turkish Airlines' second-quarter 2026 investor presentation, reported by the Turkish aviation site Aero Haber on 5 August 2026, put AJet's active fleet at 89 aircraft at the end of June 2026, up from 80 a year earlier.

Traffic

The same presentation gave these figures for the first half of 2026, compared with the first half of 2025:

  • Passengers: 11.8 million, up from 10.3 million.
  • Load factor: 85.1%, up from 81.1%.
  • Routes: 175, up from 157.
  • International flying: 62.7% of capacity, up from 59.6%.
  • Share of international landings at Sabiha Gökçen: 28%, up from 25%.

For comparison, in 2019, when it was still a brand, it had 31 active aircraft and international flying made up 13.3% of its capacity, according to the same report. Turkish Airlines describes AJet in that presentation as a new growth platform.

Middle East routes

AJet's website carries an announcement, listed among its current notices in October 2026 but not itself dated, setting out the resumption of Middle East routes from May: Istanbul Sabiha Gökçen to Damascus, Beirut, Erbil and Baghdad, Ankara to Damascus, and Sabiha Gökçen to Dubai from 16 June.

Fares

AJet sells fare packages called Basic, Ecojet, Flex and Premium. On international flights the cheapest package includes only an under-seat bag, while the cabin bag allowance on domestic flights is free on every fare.
