Jet2.com

Jet2.com, usually just Jet2, is a British leisure airline based at Leeds Bradford Airport and owned by Jet2 plc, formerly Dart Group. It runs alongside a sister tour operator, Jet2holidays, and the same aircraft carry both package-holiday customers and people who buy flights only. Seats and holidays are sold mainly from UK regional airports to sun and city destinations in Europe. Wikipedia lists Spain, Greece, Italy, Turkey, Bulgaria and France among the main markets.

In Jet2 plc's results for the year to 31 March 2026, the group reported 20.83 million passengers flown, up 5%. Package holidays made up 63.3% of passengers; flight-only passengers rose 15% to 7.64 million. So Jet2 sits between a low-cost scheduled airline and a holiday charter airline: it publishes fares and sells single seats, but most of its seats go with a holiday.

From Channel Express to Jet2

The airline started life as Channel Express, which Philip Meeson bought in 1983. It was first a freight operator and added passenger charter flights from 2001. In 2003 the company launched the Jet2.com brand at Leeds Bradford, and the first flight, to Amsterdam, left on 12 February 2003 with Boeing 737-300s. Manchester followed in 2004, then Belfast International, Newcastle and Edinburgh. In 2006 the operating company moved from Bournemouth to Leeds and was renamed Jet2.com Limited. Jet2holidays was launched in 2007.

Bases kept being added: East Midlands in 2010, Glasgow in 2011, Birmingham and London Stansted in 2017, Bristol in 2021, Liverpool, then Bournemouth and London Luton in 2025. Steve Heapy has been chief executive since January 2013, and Robin Terrell succeeded Meeson as chairman in September 2023.

Network

The FY26 results list 14 UK bases. The newest, London Gatwick, opened in late March 2026 with six aircraft, and Jet2 expects to base seven there in summer 2027. Wikipedia also lists overseas bases at Alicante, Palma de Mallorca and Tenerife South. For summer 2026 the group put 19.9 million seats on sale, 7.7% more than in summer 2025. Jet2 has also said it will return to Egypt, with flights and holidays to Hurghada and Sharm El Sheikh from February 2027.

Fleet

Jet2 plc's FY26 results, published on 8 July 2026, give a fleet of 139 aircraft, of which 31 owned and leased Airbus A321neos, or 22%, were planned for peak summer 2026. A Wikipedia fleet table from October 2025 shows the rest as mainly Boeing 737-800s, with some 737-300s and older A321s. The move to Airbus began with an order in 2021. After later additions and conversions the order reached 146 A321neos in July 2024, and the results say 124 more aircraft are due for delivery by 2035. Jet2 retired its last Boeing 757s in January 2025.

2025–26
