About LowFaresAirline.com

A reference for the world’s low-cost airlines: who they are, where they fly from, and how many aircraft they operate.

What this site is

LowFaresAirline.com lists 84 low-cost airlines worldwide. Each has a profile with its codes, home country, hubs and its latest published fleet size. You can browse them in the airline directory or by continent, starting with Europe.

Methodology

Which airlines are listed. We keep our own list of low-cost carriers and check each one against primary sources — the airline’s own website and reports — before it is published. Being in a data feed is not enough to be listed. Airlines that stop flying stay listed, marked “Ceased operations”, with no booking link.

Where fleet figures come from. Each fleet size is the most recent figure from one of these sources:

  • the airline’s own published reports and results,
  • press releases and press reports,
  • Wikipedia fleet tables.

Every figure is shown with the date it describes and a link to its source. Where a source counts a whole airline group, we say so. If no figure has been published, the profile says “Fleet size not published”. We never estimate.

Where today’s 84 figures come from:

  • Wikipedia fleet table: 36
  • Airline report: 28
  • Press report: 11
  • Wikipedia: 6
  • Airline report (Q1 FY27 presentation): 1
  • Airline report (Q1 FY27 press release): 1
  • Parent group report (Abra Group, Sept 2026 traffic): 1

How it stays current. When an airline publishes a new figure, its profile updates with the new date; earlier figures are kept as history. The data was last updated on .

How articles are written

Blog articles are drafted with the help of an AI model from the figures in our own database — the same dated, sourced fleet figures, routes and cached fares shown elsewhere on the site — and an editor reads and approves every article before it is published. A draft is held back automatically if it cites a number that is not in our data, quotes a price that isn’t one of our dated cached fares, or links to a page that does not exist. Opinion appears only in a section headed “Our take”. Each article lists the sources its figures come from.

How the site is funded

We earn a commission when you book through our flight-search partner, and we may show advertising on some pages. Neither affects which airlines are listed, the order they appear in, or any figure on the site. See the affiliate disclosure.

Corrections

If a figure looks wrong or out of date, please tell us — see contact. We correct errors against the airline’s own published information.
