About Peach
Peach Aviation (IATA code MM) is a Japanese low-cost airline based at Kansai International Airport, with its head office in Izumisano, Osaka Prefecture. Since late 2024 it has been wholly owned by ANA Holdings, the parent of All Nippon Airways, which makes Peach the low-cost half of the ANA group in the way that Jetstar sits within Qantas. Most of its flying is domestic, and its international network reaches South Korea, Taiwan, Hong Kong, mainland China, Thailand and Singapore.
The company was founded on 10 February 2011 as A&F Aviation, a joint venture between ANA and the Hong Kong investment firm First Eastern Investment Group, with the state-backed Innovation Network Corporation of Japan as a third shareholder. It took the Peach name in May 2011, received its first Airbus A320 that November, and flew its first service, Osaka Kansai to Sapporo New Chitose, on 1 March 2012. Round-the-clock operations at Kansai and a dedicated low-cost terminal there were part of the early model. ANA's stake rose over time, and in December 2024 it was reported to have bought the remaining shares from First Eastern; Peach's own corporate profile lists ANA Holdings as holder of 100 percent.
Absorbing Vanilla Air
In March 2018 ANA announced it would merge its two low-cost subsidiaries, Peach and Vanilla Air, with Peach as the surviving brand. Vanilla Air stopped flying on 26 October 2019, and Peach announced the integration complete on 1 November 2019. The merger gave Peach a large operation at Tokyo Narita, where it had opened a second base that October, alongside its Osaka home. It also flies from Naha and Sendai among its main airports.
Fleet and longer flights
Peach flies only the Airbus A320 family. It introduced the A320neo from late 2020 and in December 2021 became the first Japanese operator of the longer-range A321LR, which it used to open its first medium-haul flights, Kansai to Bangkok, announced in October 2022, and Kansai to Singapore, announced in August 2024. On 25 February 2025 it announced plans to introduce the A321XLR and more A321neo aircraft. Peach's corporate page gives a fleet of 38 aircraft as of 1 April 2026, with 25 domestic and 15 international routes, 9.46 million passengers in the 2025 financial year and a 99.5 percent completion factor. In March 2026 it began flying aircraft fitted with Airbus's Airspace cabin.
Fifteen years on
Peach marked its 15th anniversary in 2026 with a brand refresh, including a new livery unveiled in spring and new cabin-crew uniforms that entered service on 1 October 2026. The company says its cumulative passenger count has passed 75 million, of which more than 20 million on international flights, according to a May 2026 release. Other recent changes include bringing passenger handling at Kansai in-house from July 2025, opening Nagoya and Osaka routes to Seoul Gimpo in February 2025, announcing a Tokyo Narita to Seoul Incheon route in May 2026, and introducing a compensation programme for major delays and cancellations caused by the airline in July 2026. Its chief executive is Kazunari Ohashi, and the company employed 2,166 people on 1 April 2026.
